The activities of the school is being overseen by a Board of Governors of which our founder,
Chief (Mrs)Victoria Diete-Spiff is a member.
Chief (Mrs)Victoria Diete-Spiff is a lady of substance. At an early age when most women
with her gifts would prefer leisure, she chose hard work. At a time when most women would
concentrate on their biological children, she preferred to care for everybody's children.
At an era when most investors prefer stocks, bonds and oil blocks, she chose the future of
Nigerian children. All because she loves children, all children, and want to care for them.
Montessori trained and widely experienced, Chief (Mrs)Victoria Diete-Spiff is liberal,
progressive and dynamic. In recognition of her immense contribution to child education in Rivers State and
Nigeria, she was conferred with the Chieftaincy title of Yeye-Ilu of Lagos - Mother of all -
by the Late Oba of Lagos, His Royal Highness, Adeyinka Oyekan II.
The title reflects her natural affinity for children, which has become her way of life.
She refers to all the pupils as "my grandchildren", and is apprehensive when they are leaving.
"These are children I'd love to keep," she says fondly. This feeling is indeed mutual, both pupils
and staff call her "Big Mummy," and she lives up to it.
Bereton parents say that part of their attraction to the school is the
proprietor's personal interest and individual input in the education of their children.
"My dream is to give the children a solid foundation in all fields of study to make them self
reliant and confident even at a tender age," she says. It is a mission with human face and human heart.
